Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort to facilitate healing. The purpose of moxibustion, as with most forms of Chinese medicine, is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health.

Cupping
Cupping is a method of creating a vacuum on the patient’s skin to dispel stagnant blood and lymph, there by improving qi flow to treat respiratory diseases such as the common cold, pneumonia, and bronchitis. Cupping also is used on back, neck, shoulder, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Cupping can cause non-permanent red marks, swelling, and bruising at local areas for a few days to a week.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Pediatric Acupuncture
Every child is different, and we meet each one exactly where they are. Some children are completely at ease with acupuncture — even at a young age — and do beautifully with the very thin needles we use, placed and removed in a moment so they can keep right on wiggling and playing. Others would rather skip needles altogether, and for them we have a whole gentle toolkit: shonishin (a Japanese, non-insertive technique), light acupressure and massage, soft gua sha, and warming moxa to calm, balance, and strengthen a child's system. Safe, child-friendly herbs often continue the care gently at home.

Acupuncture is generally speaking very gentle and results in almost no negative side effects. Occasionally, a patient may experience some residual tenderness or mild bruising where the needle was inserted

Completely. Needles are made of stainless steel; they are pre-sterilized and disposed of after each session.

Most patients don't feel much more than a slight prick as the needle is inserted. Occasionally, a patient may describe a dull, slightly aching sensation when the needle is inserted that dissipates within moments after insertion. Following insertion, patients report a calm and peaceful meditative state during treatment.

We are in-network with Triwest Veteran Affairs.
For Kaiser patients: with your PCP's referral, you will only pay your co-pay. Without a referral and authorization number, we won't be able to use your Kaiser insurance and we will need to charge our time of service fees.
For other insurance providers, we can provide superbills that you can submit for reimbursement directly from your insurance provider. We accept all major HSA/FSA plans.

All cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance, otherwise they will be considered “late cancellations” and you will be charged the full visit fee. After two late cancellations, you will no longer be allowed to schedule appointments in advance and will instead be added to the waitlist. Why I Created Felek Acupuncture
I created Felek Acupuncture because I wanted a different kind of healing space, one where people could slow down, feel truly listened to, and receive care that looks beyond symptoms to understand the whole person.
My own path to Chinese medicine took an unexpected turn. I studied engineering before discovering Aikido, Tai Chi, and gong fu tea, which introduced me to a very different way of understanding the body: not as a machine to be fixed, but as a living system with its own intelligence.
That idea still guides our clinic today. We listen carefully, look for the patterns underneath what you're experiencing, and work with your body's own capacity to heal and find balance.
